The Advantages of Split Entry House Design

Wednesday, August 13th, 2008

You might be wondering what kind of house is right for you.  Making the decision to buy or build a home is tremendous.  There are all kinds of things that you have to think about to ensure that you are really prepared for the responsibility.  One of the first things to think about is what you plan to do with your home.  Of course, you plan to live in it.  The question is; are you going to live alone, with your partner, or with kids?   The answer makes a lot of difference in what kind of home is going to work best for you.  If you have children or see them in your future, you might want to consider a split entry house design.

Split Entry House Design

With the split entry house design, you are going to be able to enjoy plenty of space for kids to play and live.  Most of these kinds of homes usually have 3 or more bedrooms, making them ideal for raising a couple of kids.  You can always convert the bedrooms into a home office or hobby room later.  These kinds of houses are often confused with split level homes, but there is a distinct difference.  Split level ranch homes have entrances that open onto a dual staircase.  One goes up to the living areas of the house, while the other leads down into the garage and family room areas.  In a split entry house design, the entrance is usually placed directly to the living room or another public room in the house.

Another thing you can count on with split entry house design is the convenient room placement.  These homes are designed to be as functional as possible without sacrificing style and curb appeal.  In the unlikely event that your home needs repairs, most contractors are more than qualified for work on these homes.  It’s far more likely that you will want to do some cosmetic remodeling as opposed to repairs though.
